The Affordable Housing and Homeless Alliance is one of Hawaii's leading voices on the issue of homelessness. They work collaboratively with the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to build state and local capacity, leading to stronger programs and policies that help homeless individuals and families make positive changes in their lives.

Ark of Safety
The Ark of Safety Christian Fellowship is a bible teaching, Christ centered, non-denominational church located on the Leeward Coast of Oahu in the city of Waianae. Established by the late Rev. Henry Kamakawiwoole as Waianae Pentecostal Faith Mission, the church has serviced the community for the past 58 years. The organization has grown with programs that support men, women, kupuna, youth, children, infant and toddlers.

Big Island Substance Abuse Council
The Big Island Substance Abuse Council provides Adolescent Community-Based Outpatient services at four sites located outside the school settings — Hilo, Waimea, Kona and on Oahu in Makaha, and is currently expanding adolescent Outpatient services to Maui, as well.

MHA- Hawaii is an advocacy organization that also provides a number of programs including Youth Suicide and Bullying Prevention Training, support for returning soldiers and their families, and families with a parent with mental illness. MHA-Hawaii publishes an annual “Finding Help” guide, phone list, and Consumer’s Guide to Mental Health Services in Hawaii. They also provide a brown bag seminar series.

Founded in 1974, TJ Mahoney & Associates is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping prison inmates become responsible, productive members of their communities. Our objective is to improve the likelihood of successful community reentry, thereby reducing recidivism and the long-term financial and social costs of incarceration.

I.H.S is an organization that provides respite for those who are unsheltered and solutions that transform the lives of homeless and at risk people. They provide emergency services such as clothing, meals, showers and health care. IHS also provides specialized case management and housing placement services. Support for parents is provided such as parenting education and adult education.

(USH) is Hawaii’s consumer-run organization that offers peer-to-peer support through support groups and educational classes. Consumers produce a monthly newsletter and meet the first Friday of every month at the Waikiki Community Health Center on Oahu Street for fellowship and support. Consumers also collaborate to assist each other through difficult times and teach each other coping skills.

Our primary mission is to help the mothers and fathers of Hawaii to get off drugs, off the streets, and out of abusive relationships, enabling them to parent their children and to lead stable, fulfilling lives. Serving approximately 350 clients per year, most lifelong victims of domestic violence and narcotics addiction, we do everything we can to break the generational cycles of hopelessness. Our primary focus is the homeless and low-income population but our work extends well past these groups.
